James is an engaging, enthusiastic, self-aware, mature counsellor with years of experience, a strong work ethic and a deeply ingrained desire to help others. He has highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, and an understanding for working with individuals and couples from diverse backgrounds.
James utilises a wide range of counselling modalities to provide a unique platform to help people help themselves. James is skilled in group and individual counselling drawing from therapeutic modalities that include: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Mindfulness, Attachment Theory and Humanistic Therapy.
Over his years of commitment, James has developed a high degree of active listening skills that are delivered without judgment. It is James' natural interest in people that helps clients be comfortable and open, exploring and gaining understanding of their concerns, bringing about positive change and greater wellbeing. This drives James to continually apply himself to be an excellent counsellor and support for his clients.
