Joumana Jeffers is a highly skilled counsellor with over 20 years of experience helping adults and couples create effective strategies to tackle and overcome their concerns. Joumana holds membership with the Australian Psychological Society, the British Psychological Society, and the Australian Counselling Association.
Joumana believes that, despite the challenges and stressors we face, we all need, want, and deserve to lead fulfilling & authentic lives. Joumana's empathetic and outcome focussed therapeutic approach centres on getting to the heart of what is really hindering progress and psychological wellbeing. In partnership with the client and utilizing various contemporary counselling models, Joumana assists clients in understanding the root causes of their distress, building greater self-knowledge, and regaining control so that she can guide them in making genuine and positive changes in their lives.
Joumana’s qualifications include a degree in Psychology as well as further qualifications in counselling. Along with this, the training she has received allows her to use a variety of highly effective evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Trauma Informed Care, Solution-Focused and Positive Psychotherapy (PPT).
